Question Bobbin washers

Do you use them? When? All the time or just when FM Quilting?

Years ago I bought some and used them. I never noticed a difference, so I threw them away.

I use them. I don't know if they work for all machines but I never get backlash or a bird's nest when piecing or machine quilting. Sharon Schamber recommended them when I asked about thread mess up on the back of my work. They last for years unless you drop one and can't find it.

I did the same thing as you Jingle. I forgot to put one in one time I was quilting and realized for my machine, I didn't need them.

Same here. My new machine can't use them anyway as they are larger bobbins. But I didn't see any advantage before.

I also tried them and noticed no difference. Tossed them away.

They prevent static so if you use plastic bobbins or have plastic bobbin area they won't make much difference. Metal bobbin in metal case is where they make the difference.

I use the large size on my longarm, also at Sharon Schamber's suggestion and have good results.

lol, my first mental image of a "bobbin washer" was more of a little dish washer Took me a moment but at least I'm still grinning.
