bobbin winder
A couple years ago, there was a link someone shared about a bobbin winding machine that a gentleman made. The machine was such that you could have 2 settings for the size of your bobbin. I was trying to locate the website and am unable to find anything. Does anyone remember that contact info? He may have lived in Indiana but I'm not sure.
Appreciate any leads.
Happy Saturday.

I think this might be what you are looking for. If you click on "Super Electric Bobbin Winder" & scroll down, you will see a video of how to use it. Looks like a great winder to me.

The above hyperlink is the one I believe you are looking for. I have owned this bobbin winder for awhile and it is awesome. Winds every bobbin I have asked it too! Size M for my longarm, Janome machines and even my featherweights. Kind of cool it's an American company built by the owner of the company. If I could give it a 5 star review, I would!

that one would be perfect if it had sensors to stop the winder. I use enough different weights of thread that counting revolutions is not very meaningful to know when the bobbin is full. I bought a generic type (amazon) and it won't wind a class 15 bobbin, as it keeps wanting to go back down before it gets to the top of the bobbin. I'm not all that happy with it so still looking for something else. I love the one that came with my HQ, but it's out with the LA so not practicable to use for winding bobbins for other machines. I've never tried winding anything but the class M on it - don't know if it would work.
I really want a bobbin winder I don't have to watch

We have so many people who are good at mechanical things, I can't believe no on has made one of these yet. I had a bobbin winder for my loom (it winds the inner bobbin for the boat shuttles) that was made from a sewing machine motor, a piece of metal that looked like a round lance point form a medieval jouster and the pedal to make it go. It could probably do sewing machine bobbins, but it wouldn't auto shut off. It seems like one should be able to take one off a machine. Necchi's have an auto shut off of sorts.

I wanted to give an update about the winder search. I ordered and have teceived the winder from fancyquilt. It is very nice to look at, quiet, and works great!! A little pricey but sometimes you have to treat yourself. And it works great!
