Is that Bottom Line thread 100% cotton or is it Poly?

as far as rethreading the top thread, my machine has not been top-threaded anew in 15 years or so. when i see i'm getting close to the end, i attach the next spool, carefully using a square knot, right over left, left over right, and continue. there hasn't NOT been a thread in that machine forever. i gently pull the thread through all the guides, including the needle, and i'm off once again. even when i thoroughly clean it, i just work around it.

oh, of course, if the thread breaks, i do have to start again, and to change a needle, but other than that - never. learned that from my service man.

can you bypass the bobbin and just attach a spool from underneith and mount it somehow, just let the machine pull it from underneith?
You find a way to do this and you'll be the richest quilter on earth!

If you don't have a machine that will tell you the bobbin is going to run out, just wind loads of bobbins. Put a new one on tgh

The trick is in using a thinner, strong thread. Superior Threads' Masterpiece is made for piecing quilts. The bobbins seem to last forever and you don't get a distortion where the seam is.

I was reading somewhere that they are trying to figure out a way to by pass the need for bobbins and the thread will feed in to the bobbin area from a spool....Wouldn't that be a happy day??? 8) 8)

I am looking into thinner threads too, I like the idea of not having to change the bobbins as often...my new machines do not like the cardboard bobbins and the plastic bobbins are a pain if the have the slightest scratch, burr or knick in them...
