I usually don't do BOM - but this year I am doing one, just because I liked the quilt and wanted to try the various techniques. The only problem I have with them is when I start on a quilt I don't want to wait a year to complete it! But I bought an acid free plastic box to keep the completed blocks in so I don't lose them by the end of the year. If you calculate the cost i really isn't any more than if you purchased all the fabric independently.

I love the BoM clubs I have done. I have BoM's from the lqs, JoAnn's/Hancocks, fatquartershop.com, The Cotton Patch and others. Yes, they are usually more expensive than fabric prices, but they are fun and I enjoy doing them. Usually they have a story or historical information and I haven't had a lot of issues with bad instructions or fabric shortage, but when there is a error they have always been quickly resolved and I will be doing three more this year.
