Heavens, no!! Don't redo--that's not a boo boo, it's actually the perfect formula, and one I nearly always use. Cross-grain (unless I have a curve, then it's bias), double-folded 2" strips, 1/4" seam allowance, stitch from the front, hand stitch to the back. It allows me to use my 1/4" foot on my Bernina, which fills the binding, and covers the stitches on the back side. I always get compliments on my beautiful bindings when I enter my quilts in shows or contests.

I sewed it on from the front by machine and turned and pinned it to the back to hand sew down. It is narrow so all the binding is on back of quilt. It looks good that way actually but wasn't sure how many quilting rules I broke doing it this way. Should I take it off and start over with larger binding strips ?
