Default Border or no border?

This will be a wall hanging. From a few yards of fabric I had that I didn’t know what to do with, so I made a OBW.

1: No border, black binding
2: Small black border with black binding
3: Small black border with leftover fabric as binding.
4: No border with leftover fabric as binding.

I like the 1st picture with the small border. It looks like a more finished piece of art. It is very nice, good job.

I like the border on the first picture. Pretty top!

I feel the same. Would make your quilt perfect. Beautiful quilt top.

I agree with the black border and binding. It frames the quilt nicely

Great quilt! I vote for the border too.

Black border...perhaps 4 to 6 inches wide.

I would choose a extra wide dark border of the same dark color that is in the block so the pattern would look like it's floating. Same binding color as the border.

I would use a small black border(only an inch) to set off the flowers and then you can use any color that blends for a wider border. Beautiful wall hanging but definitely needs a finishing touch. (a free opinion!)

I'm in agreement with everyone about a black border. It sets off the colors in the obw best. I'd hold up different widths to see what looks best, but probably 2" or 3". I think anything wider would overwhelm the quilt. It's beautiful. I often do a border with a facing rather than binding, too.
