Maybe consider joining the border pieces diagonally the same way you join binding pieces? Less noticeable.

I have a tendency to go toward B unless that requires B to have a seam. Then I go for A which has a seam anyway. For some reason I like a top and a bottom.

I also like B. Have you thought about making the seams on the diagonal like for binding? Cute quilt!

I always put borders on the two longer sides first, then on the two shorter sides, though I really don't think it matters at all since once the quilt is quilted the seams seem to disappear.
