if you have enough border fabric, do all four sides.
if you don't, then just do sides and bottom.

your quilt.
as long as it suits you then it will be fine.

Beautiful quilt. I recently experienced the same dilemma...but I didn’t want the quilt too long for the queen size bed with a top border so I made the top border a bit narrower than the other 3.

Thanks, all. I will put pillows on top of the quilt at the head of the bed. But now that I think about it, I can still reverse it without the 4th border....the bottom of the quilt will be hidden by the foot board, so the border less end won’t be seen.
Thanks for “ listening” to me think out loud! 😍

I would add the forth border for continuity. I like things to reflect all sides to match. I get my quilts twisted some times and I like to t find where I am at from time to time. This quilt is to die for beautiful!! I was closely looking at each of the elements and it is amazing how much you have put into this quilt. To not finish off the last border would somehow be sad IMO. I can understand how tired I get this close to the finish line but it will be worth the added efforts.

Beautiful quilt. I don't think you will miss the border on top if pillows will be there.

If you are going to keep pillows at the top then it will not matter if you have the 4th border on. But--if you plan on putting the quilt over the bed pillows then you may be sorry you didn't add the 4th border. I think it is just whatever you like. Beautiful quilt and so nicely done.

It is beautiful. On some of my donation quilts I will put three borders on because I don't have enough fabric.

On quilts for our bed I cover my pillows with pillow covers. I don't care for my quilts to cover the pillows.

Ummm...I have added a smaller top border at times....because when I put the pillows at the top...but tuck the quilt over the top of the pillows..I like it when there is only a narrow top border so the pieced pattern shows on top of the pillows....
