Default Bought a New Machine Today

Well, I finally did it. I bought the Babylock Jane which is the straight stitch only mechanical machine. I was agonizing over the Brother 1500 and the Juki 2010 and ended up with the Babylock, essentially the same machine. My dealer carries Babylock and Brother only. He sold me the BL for $30 more than the online Brother price. He also agreed to fix the needle threader (I broke it) on my Brother NX450 at no charge.

I came home and cleaned up my sewing room (again) to make room and I'll start messing with the machine tomorrow.

Sooooo. This makes me a Mommy of......
    2 vintage Singers
    1 1980's Pfaff
    1 1970's Kenmore
    1 computerized modern-day Brother
    1 mechanical modern-day Babylock

    Life is good.

How do you decide which one you want to sew on. Or is each one for different jobs

Which machine I use does depend on what I'm sewing. I'm planning on using the Babylock for FMQ.

I have been looking at all 3 of those machines also, but not sure which is the best buy. If they are comparable why not buy the least expensive.

I think you will like your new machine a lot. I have the older version called a BL Quilters Professional. I like to quilt on it a lot better than my BL crescendo.

I agree with you and I wanted to buy the Brother machine. But when my dealer offered the BL at just $30 more, I took the bait. And I'll tell you, so far I'm happy. The machine is quiet, I can tap on the foot pedal and get one stitch - I was thinking the Juki had the edge because it has speed control, but I don't need it. The BL pedal is highly responsive. I do have a lot more playing around to do, but so far I'm happy. And I do like to go through a dealer rather than purchase online when I can.
