I just purchased a mini bow tuck pattern and cant wait till it arrives to make my first one. I planned to suprise my mom with one (she doesnt even know i plan to make one XD) but i also plan to make one for myself... especially since the strap on the current generic purse is hanging on by a thread and this would be a great unique item to have (not to mention self marketing by carrying it with you!).

I was just wondering though if anyone knows how well they stand up to everyday use. If they get tossed around or tugged on that they dont just get worn down after a few weeks?

Thanks!
Kristi W.

I haven't made one yet but has a friend that has been using hers for about 8 months. It still looks great and she stuffs alot of things in it.

I just bought the pattern and my girls picked out their fabric... so I am curious of the responses you get.

I am on the third year of using my first Bow Tucks bag. Purchase quality fabrics and your bag will look like new for a long time to come:)

The structural design is superb...

I made one last July and carried it the rest of the summer and have it back out again! In fact, have been carrying it for about 2 weeks now. First of all...I am hard on my handbags...I stuff all sorts of things in them and set them down all sorts of places from the floor of my classroom to the floor of my car and even in our barn sometimes. I can tell you...my Bow-tuck is holding up exceptionally well. The only thing I will do differently maybe the next time I make one is maybe use some pel-tex along the inside of the top around it. (Does that make any sense?) I get compliments all the time on my bag!
