I started making my 2nd bow tucks bag. I had bought the fabric at a thrift store not realizing that some had been cut off the side. Anyway, I made the front & back panels and the lining pieces. When I made the pockets for the lining it was 1" short. I decided to cut an 1" off the outside panels and the lining. Now I'm wondering about the 2 1/2" seam (Line A on the pattern directions) for stitching the sides of the pockets to the lining. Should I make that 1/2" shorter on both sides or should I leave it the 2 1/2"? Thanks!

I think either way would be ok. That measurement determines the size of the flat part of the bottom.

Thank you for answering me. I will probably stick to the 2 1/2" the pattern calls for since it won't make a difference. I'm making each of the women in my small group bible study a bow tucks for Christmas. I tried to be "thrifty" getting a lot of my fabrics from a thrift store. I'll have to pay attention to the sides of the fabric. There may be more than just the selvage cut off. Lesson learned.
