I have done it with the thinner pellon it seems to work just fine! Easier to sew through all those layers too.

I heard there is no pattern, just instructions. Was this confusing?
Oh good, lol. I ordered my pattern last week, so I guess I will soon find out just how confusing this thing is to make.......

it usually takes me 2 to 2 1/2 full bobbins of thread to make one. .....ginny
Thanks for the bobbin info :-D Now I know how many to wind up front, which should help reduce the frustration level a little.

Just a suggestion that I read, probably on this board. Quilt the front of the bag and the lining pieces first before cutting to size. The quilting takes up some of the yardage.

Only problem is, Walmart does not carry the correct type of Pellon. I've looked in several walmarts and they have the Pellon fusible fleece that is too heavy for this tote.
Joann's will have it on sale for $3.50/yard next weekend.

If you don't use something to back both the outside and the lining of this bag, you will not have the right amount of "body" or support--especially to support the inside pockets.

I just bought the mini bow-tuck pattern. Haven't tried it out yet. Construction of a 3 dimensional item is foreign to me. I didn't do any sewing before picking up quilting.
