Most Singer short shank attachments will fit other machines if they are short shank too. All you can do is try them. My ancient old Singer buttonholer fits my Janome 6500 and still makes beautiful consistent buttonholes. I just drop the feed dogs on my Janome, attach the buttonholer and stitch away. The buttonhole attachment that came with my Janome just won't handle the large or thick buttons that I use on my bags and purses.

There are a couple of links to charts listing shank size/type by brand and model.
Another thing you can do is take a foot from your Singer with you to the thrift shop and compare its shank to the shanks in the box.
