Default Boy am I DUMB!!

I got the top done for "Tropical Paradise" and decided to get the backing and batting ready. I had them laid out on the bed, with the top and batting each folded in half, THEN cut the batting on the fold, making it two pieces. Oh brother, do I feel foolish! Anyone else ever do this. Please say yes so I won't look like too much of an idiot.

but you didn't cut the top in half, right? batting being cut isn't so bad. you can just stitch it back together again. Don't scare me like that!

That is one I haven't done...yet. The good news is, it is easily fixed by batting tape or zig zagging it back together.

No.....only the batting got cut. I may sew it together for another quilt. I want this one to be well done, so Jim is getting me some more batting at Hobby Lobby tomorrow. Good thing I do not have to rush. The person I will give it to, has a birthday on October 1st.

I think you have plenty of time to redo your batting!! Sometimes it is just sad the weird mistakes I make!!

Most of us have made "dumb" mistakes along the way so you are not alone. I'm glad it was only the batting you cut and not the top..

I have had some "painful learning experiences" in my years of quilting and sewing. See, doesn't that sound better than "dumb mistake"? It's all in perspective. I have no doubt you'll never do that again!

I would just hand stitch together and then spray baste. The quilting will not show. But what a wonderful Jim going to get more. I hope it is October 2014 .
