    Default Brother Sewing Machine Tension?

What number for the tension setting do most of you use on your brother machine for normal sewing as piecing, etc. ?

    Thank you
    Susan/JuneBillie

I always use 2.5 for most things, but lately find the fabric doesn't feed properly so am ending up with tiny stitches. Not sure what the problem is
Sometimes I need to join 2 pieces of the same fabric (colour & pattern) together, then I use 1 - 1.5, as it hides the join better. Just don't plan to unpick.

Tension depends of several things. One of my brothers is set at 4 and the other is a little lower. What size thread will make different

It depends on the machine, i had a log for my mechanicals settings but mycomputerized and TOL i just leave at default unless i have problems. I think 3 for my mechanical when i used cotton thread poly was a different setting.
