Default Brother XR3140...love it

Read on another thread about this machine so decided to try it myself. Ordered it from Costco and received it about 7 days later. Tried it on the binding for the latest quilt and it went quite well. Don't care for their 1/4" foot as I'm used to using a foot with a guard on the right side. Will look to see if either Brother or Babylock has one. I did try my Babylock Ellegante's feet on this machine and it fit fine but it may be some feet won't work such as the walking foot. Have never used one up to now anyway.

Anyway, as I stated I liked this machine as its light weight and I can put it on one end of my cutting table to lay the quilt out to add the borders and/or binding. I liked it so well and for the price I ordered another one for a friend I'm teaching how to make a quilt. 1 week difference and Costco was having a deal $40 off so got the 2nd one even cheaper. I'm happy.

Thanks for suggesting this machine. Its my 1st Brother machine though I know Babylock and Brother are twins basically.

Glad that you found a machine that works for you. I still love my Bernina 1530 that I bought over 15 year ago.

I am thinking of buying the Brother PC420PRW to take to retreats.

Onebyone, checked out that machine..........liked that it had the My Custom Stitch as mine didn't but I do like the table that came with it so I guess an even swop. Still looking for a 1/4" foot with a guard on it though.
