Default Quilting suggestions - Mixing It Up Quilt

Hi everyone, this is my first post and I"m hoping you can help me with some friendly suggestions on how to fill the white space in this quilt - https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1520...home_active_15

I can't do free motion quilting but I have a sapphire 930 so can do wavy lines etc with a walking foot. Any suggestions gratefully received x

when i was a quilting newbie, my favorite quiltings were: stitch in the ditch, echo quilting, and lines of rays only in the white spaces but going out from an imaginary point at the center of the block, or the center of the quilt. the rays would be pretty fussy considering the amount of colored space in your blocks. it's a cute quilt.... would love to see a picture of yours. welcome to the QB

Welcome to the board from Northern California. Will be watching for replies as I don't FMQ either. Will bite the bullet someday. BrendaK

It is too bad that you are not ready to do FMS. Leah Day has some wonderful ideas on how to fill negative space. A lot of her quilting is very dense, but could be spread out to fit the project.
Earlier in this thread it was suggested you do some straight rays of stitching through the background. That would be relatively easy to mark and do and would make the mixers & spatulas stand out as long as you don't stitch onto them. Cute quilt.

I think of crosshatching as a good quilting design that doesn't distract from the top. You could straight stitch around the designs and then do a simple square crosshatching with your walking foot in the background.

Or just do wavy lines or rays. It's a really cute quilt
