Default Budget free motion quilting rulers

Ads for budget free motion rulers keep appearing on line, approx $45 / £37 for 6 different shapes. This is far cheaper than the named brands so what's the catch? Are they thinner or less accurate perhaps?

Has anyone here tried them?

Do you know the brand name?

I can't see a 'brand' on them. The site is specialboom.com

When I order from a site that I'm not so sure about, I always check to see if they take paypal. This way no credit card numbers go to the site, and paypal backs you if the product is shady or you never get it. This site does take paypal.
As for the quality of the rulers, I'd email them and ask about the thickness of the rulers. This covers you in 2 ways..one..you'll know how they behave as a company with customer service, but more importantly, you'll have locked them in, in writing about the thickness and material of the ruler.

I would like to know if you end up ordering them and get feed back from anyone that has purchased them. It sounds to good to be true.

The site does show that they accept PayPal & also I see that they have a "chat" contact option where you could contact them via computer with questions. I would print off my conversation with them before exiting the "chat" session so you would have a hard copy of what issues you had and their answers to those questions if you ever need it. Or do like donna13350 suggested with email so you have a hard copy of their reply to you.

When I encounter a site that I've never heard of, first thing I look for is contact information.

I expect to find: email address, phone #, and a physical address (or at least a P.O. Box) - and this info needs to be easy to find.

Well this site has an email address, and a phone #, but no easy to find physical/mailing address. So I googled the phone #. Found multiple websites (different names) using the same phone # - stopped looking after 8 websites, and they all look sketchy to me.

Personally, I would not trust this website as all their products lack a brand name, and look like cheap knock-offs.

I checked out the site and while it isn't as bad as many others, it did set my Ublock Origin off a bit.

When I was looking for site reviews I didn't find any but I did find this comment on one of the products:
https://www.specialboom.com/products/free6set
These are not genuine product. Copies of stolen copyrighted product from Westalee Design. Also stolen videos shown. What you see on the video is not what you get! Don't waste your money with these people. It's called theft!

The site does look sketchy.
But my bigger concern is that for ruler work you need good products. You could possibly cause some damage to the machine by using inferior products.

I got a great deal for rulers on Bluprint. I got Angela Walters far below the retail price.
