I brought my first expensive machine about 5 years ago. Took my time about it -- realize how right a decision it was as the years have gone by. The machine is the tool you need to advance your skills, and having the right tool gives you the ability and the confidence to try new things. When I read about people having these wonderful "old" machines (like the featherweights) the realization comes they were "expensive" when purchased -- and still desired and used these years later. While technology does change that to some extent, beginning with a superior product will mean years of enjoyment and use from your new machine. Think I'll be ready for a new machine in another 3-5 years -- we'll see!!! So far haven't seen anything that does "so much more" that the debit card comes out of the wallet!
