Agreed! Except my hair is already gray! LOL.

Use what you like, not what "They" like. A friend showed me a quilt on the long arm that she had backed with crepe because she liked it. It was beautiful. Her mantra is "You'll never know till you try it.

Everything has it's place in quilting. Personally I prefer calicoes to batiks, except in stain glass window quilts. So, yes variety is the spice of life

The high school girls in our area are wearing above the knee calico dresses with all kinds of footwear. Crocs and bright socks, cowboy boots, flip flops, etc. etc. I saw it all at DGD's volleyball game last night. Always interesting to see the fashion choices of this generation!

I have been looking for just the right fabric for a very unique quilt I have in my head and I had to have my son move some of my totes and I found the "calico" tote and found the fabric (many) that I want to use. I did not remember some of them (dozens of one yard cuts) but they sure are timeless.

I love calicos and use them in almost all my quilts.

I love calicos, too. In fact, I find many of the prints popular now to be way too busy. Cut them up and there isn't enough pattern to rest the eyes on. Many look like a "jumble" to me.

I would rather have the calico's any than the new batics. Could be my age 83.

I like the calico prints too. They do have a place in some pretty quilts!
