Yes!! The most frustrating thing I do is to find a "safe" place to put something, or move something that I have always put in one spot to a "better" place. Well the safe place is always so darn safe, I can't find it! and the better place is someplace I better plan to spend the day looking because I won't find it either.
Before Christmas I was hand sewing binding on a quilt, my favorite part, sitting in a recliner. I always keep three pins on the quilt and move them as I go. I have a finger pin cushion that I use. All of the sudden I had two pins. We have new recliners and I was afraid it would cut into the recliner if I didn't find it. DH and I looked for an hour. We moved the furniture, went through it, swept the floor, all the while I was getting "the look" and nothing! Three weeks later my daughter was visiting and said, "Is that a pin under your end table?" At least it did not go into anyone's foot.

I always remember the next to the last place i put things. and never remember the ending of murder mystery shows or books i read. the other day i was looking for my jacket only to have my son say I was wearing it. I was!! sigh.
Keep looking. you know what you need is there somewhere!! and look again.
