Default Can you identify this pattern?

Does anyone recognise this pattern? [the small blue one] Does it have a name that I could look up?

Thanks for your help!

It looks like it might be a Carol Doak paper pieced pattern?

There certainly is similarity with Carol Doak's patterns. But I have spent the last hour looking at all her patterns, and I just can't find this "squished star" anywhere.

If it is not Carol Doak, I don't know where to suggest to go look. It may be an original design made by someone else. Have you tried searching on Craftsy.com??

Try checking George Siciliano. He does some very beautiful paper piecing Bird of Paradise type things.

It is a Carol Doak pattern. The quiltmaker called it "Rainbow Stars" but I don't know if that's what Carol called it, also.

It's of interest to note the comment on the post the OP linked to. That person asked about a pattern to the paper pieced "butterfly". So maybe Carol designed a butterfly and not a star...?

Love it! http://learningconnectionsinroanoke....nnections.html

I just had an idea for a game for our Christmas party. I'll take one those squares, cut it up into the sizes shown, and have each group try to put them all together into a pattern what will form the big square. Then we could take a picture of that if we want to make a square like that.
