I have been looking at all of the purses that have been posted and I am jealous. I want to make a purse, but my sewing skills are minimal. (I can sew a straight seam (almost) and that is about it.) Can anyone suggest an easy purse pattern for me to try?

The bow tucks is easy you just need to follow the directions step by step it is all straight line stitching.

If you decide on the Bow Tucks and need some help just ask Up North. She will be more then willing to help you. Ask me how I know!

Okay, is everyone suggesting the bow tucks pattern. Keep in mind I don't know how to set in bottoms, etc.

Without knowing what kind of style purse you want it would be really hard to give suggestions. I would say start off easy - with a zippered pouch or a clutch then maybe a messenger bag or something. Heart of Mary has a great tutorial on messenger bags. I will say if you can sew a straight line, you can sew a purse lol. If you can make a basket, you can make a purse.. if you can dodge a car, you can dodge a ball... oh wait,... that's a movie line :D
