can you tell old from NEW fabrics?
take a good look at these fabrics. They are ones I picked out to go into a special quilt where the receiver LOVES 30' repro's!
Can you tell which are repro's and which are the real deal? DO you think it would be OK for me to use them all, you know mixing old and new.
Now before you freak out, the old were stored well, and have been washed, ironed, and present NO weakness, odor, etc.

I can tell you that TEN of these are vintage!

not all 30's prints were feedsacks....and not all feedsacks were course, loosely woven fabrics either...I would let you TOUCH test these and I bet you would still miss a few!

some appear to be pushing late 30's and early 40's but all within the general time period. so use them all.
I got a shock the other day when I went into a store and discovered that vintage is younger than I am.

Love them. I buy a lot of vintage and often incorporate new and vintage into my projects. I say go for it! This is going to be a beautiful quilt (you won't forget us when it comes to pics will you?).
