I agree the Downy quilt for kids, the 4 patch and alternate block. the Alternate block will be great for the doggy fabric and the border. love the fabric.

Go to the Lavender/Lime quilt web site at a store in Chatt. They have a pattern that is easy and perfect for that fabric. You have 8 1/2 inch center cut blocks (perfect for the dogs) then you strip piece the rails using the solids. It's fast (under 3 hours) and easy. They have a book for 12.95. You can also look at the class projects on this pattern and see the quilts.
The bottom/top rails are 4 1/2 inches and the side rails are 6 1/2. You sew the 4 1/2 inch strips together and then cut 2 1/2 strips. Sew on the top and bottom of the 8 1/2 block. Then sew the 6 1/2 rails together, cut 2 1/2 inches strips and sew on the sides. Your blocks are done! Sew together with the block going across and the red going the other way.
My quilt just made this pattern at the board retreat and it was so fast and cute/pretty and really shows off a fabric that you want to showcase.

I love the doggie theme., I would make and easy nonstressful quilt also. What about a 6 1/2 inch focus fabric square with alternate block a of nine patches to make a 6 1/2 square. You would use 2 1/2 inch squares for the nine patches. It will give a go diagonally both way across the quilt. Or you could use a 4 patch of 3 /12 inches for the squares. What ever you do will be loved!

Love the dog print! Brought a smile as soon as I saw it! You'll find just the right design, I'm sure.

You could do an I Spy quilt with squares and/or sashing. Use any size squares you like and add sashing. You might have to do the math to make it a certain size. They are fast and easy. I make a lot of them. I use 5 inch squares and 2 inch sashing if that helps.

I know what you mean. Was in the same predicament for months for a quilt for my little grandson. Bought fabrics as I saw them on sale - too many by far. And finally settled on just a few of the fabrics, knowing what my little guy liked, and found a simple pattern in a book called Bundles of Fun by Karen Snyder, that I happen to have. It's turning out really cute. Am all finished with top and backing but have to go get some batting tomorrow to continue.

But it took a lot, repeat, a lot of mulling over the fabrics and patterns before I could decide. So, keep mulling and something will come to you. Good luck!

I think to fussy cute the dogs and frame with the other prints in a 1.5 inch strip on all 4 sides. Maybe use one color for sashing, but not frame.

Thanks for that post. I bought some material for a baby quilt and wasn't sure just what I was going to do with it. Now I know!
