I've been scouring the web for a pattern for car seats.... bucket seat type seats....

But I can't find any... and the already made ones aren't quite what I want.

Anyone know of a pattern?

Something I'm not sure exists. I think I'm gonna end up in my car with a measuring tape yet to make covers for the seats...

Do a board search for "car seat", I am almost positive this was discussed a few months back.

I have done this numerous times, more than 3 or 4. One time we lived in an apartment complex and someone broke into the car and stole my seat covers. LOL I was able to identify them when we found the person, because they were hand made. The best way I found to do it is to have someone remove the seat from the car for you and bring it in. This way you can cut and sew and fit as you go. Good luck!

Couldn't you do it similar to making a couch cover? Use muslin to make an "inside out" pattern?

I believe adding additional covers or anything like an additional blanket under the child renders the seat unsafe. You might want to check on this. My girls are now 5 so something might have changed.

I suppose I could... . guess I should get some muslin lol. I was kinda hoping that since bucket seats are fairly similar there would be a pattern I could be lazy and use....

But it does not look like it

Here's a set of basic guidelines - he had a truck but the concept is the same I think:
