@Carla79... LOVE IT!!! Very cheery! In response to your PM about getting the center to line up: It's a matter of keeping it pressed/ironed through the process and proper pinning. I had problems with that at first, too. Let me see if I can explain itt. If this doesn't come out right, PM me, lol. I will put it here in case others are have a similar question about
lining up.

You have 2 small sewn together and your window in, and then 2 more sewn together with your window in. At this point
you have 2 separate pieces. Put right sides together so your window print is not seen from either side, and now will have 2 arrow like pieces straight up...Press with iron the arrow crease, when you pin those together to sew them, start withlining up where the windows meet in the middle first & pin. If this isn't making since, let me know & I will get a picture up. Also, if you are working w/muslin, press, don't iron back and forth. You would be surprised of how much that motion throws your measurements off.

When they get the "groups" working, I plan to start one for Cathedral Window so all those in the process of working on one can gather in one place. In the meantime, we will continue on this thread.

@grammy of 6 We would LOVE to have you! Please stop in for a visit anytime. Everyone's input is always welcomed, too When the group thing becomes available. It will be open so anyone with any interest can feel free to pull up a chair and visit a while. I have no idea how the group
thing works yet. Hopefully it will allow topics regarding CW to be a bit more organized. Like for example, the how to's in one place, fabric choices in another, etc. (((hugs)))

Good morning to all (raising cup of coffee). Just wanted to check in and see how everyone was doing. Any new CW projects in the works? Would love to see pics! Mine is slowly coming along. I haven't been able to devote as much time as I would like to it.

Just wanted to let you know that you inspired me to start a CW. I am doing the Eddie method but using the machine for the first part and hand sewing the flaps together (I do use double thread because I want this to stay together) and hand sewing the windows in with a blind stitich. I am thinking that this will take me a long time to do but will be worth it. (My grown up son was visiting and saw what I was sewing and thought it was just beautiful! He usually pays no attention.)

Unfortunately I have now hurt my sewing hand (left) and cannot do any sewing. But I will keep reading this for hints.

I have been working on a cathedral window for 1 1/2 years. My windows start as 8". I work on it at the doctor's office or when I am waiting for a meeting or such. I am ready to attach 3 more segments. I do the back ground by machine and hand stitch the points down and the windows. I do it differently than the tute you gave. Mine are done starting with a square, folding it in half, then stitching down both ends, like Eddie's tute. I do sections with 3 across and 3 down. This makes a total of 12 windows. Then when I join the finished windows, I have more unfinished windows that I have to complete.

@sewmary Thank you for the compliment. It is time consuming but well worth the rewards. Sorry to hear about your hand… I hope you have a speedy recovery.. the trick is to behave & not use it so you will mend faster. lol Would love to see your fabric choices!

@ssnare Absolutely gorgeous fabric choices! I have been working on mine for about 5 months. Currently at 108" x 18". Geeze, when I look at it like that…. I have a long way to go! lol Thank you so much for sharing your pics! Please keep in touch and let us know how you are progressing!

I loved Eddie's Tut, too. The method I am using is a bit easier for me, but that is just me. I am a hand sewer because I am not very proficient on a machine. Having vision issues (20/80 corrected) tends to also cause me to be slow on my stitches. With that being said, I always find a way to work around it and accomplish what I set out to do.
