there is another one sitting at $78 that doesn't work with 2 days left....when plugged in the light works so I'm sure its just the foot pedal....so tempting but I have one made in 1947 that I love.

I have two featherweights, one was a gift from my brother which he bought on Ebay and the other one I bought from a man I worked with. He came to me and said I have a small black sewing machine that the side folds up and it won't sew are you interested. I said how much, he said $150. Once I saw it the reason it would sew was there was NO needle, I talked him down to $140 and bought it. I have lots of machines but only sew on my featherweight. I quilt on Flo my quilting machine.

That would be the one I would go for!!! You know there are folks who would be scared of buying a machine that would cost tons to fix. So they would tend to stay away for just that.

I cant tell you how many machines I have bought (or given) because they were "Broken" and it was nothing more that the Handwheel disengaged to wind the bobbin. Most of them were given to me just to get them out of the way.

I paid $560 for one I purchased (mint condition 1934) and it also had the table. I found one for my friend on ebay and paid $200.00. She just needed to have it serviced - new belt only and she loves it.

A fair price is anywhere from $200 to $400 depending on condition ,case and accessories. I got my centennial featherweight from my mother.

I purchased a 1956 featherweight via internet from featherweightpoppy.com ([email protected]) for $385 plus $30 shipping. It was tuned, lubricated and in excellent running condition. The seller included his own directions for care of the machine and a one-year warranty, spare bobbins, spare belt, and needles.
All accessories, manual, and case included. I recommend him. The price is fair.

    I think a 1951 centennial 221 should have a scroll face-plate.
