I've made one from another pattern, but the log cabin one looks cute.

The patterns for the beak and comb are on the website that was posted. Just click below the photo, where it says "Patterns and Instructions". I have my little chickie all cut out and ready to sew - tonight hopefully! Mine will not be a log cabin, just a single-fabric chicken!

Stores want $10 for one of these and I thought I could make one myself, but just can't figure this one out. Would appreciate any help. :)
I have made the chicken pincushions. I made mine 3 1/2 inch squares. The one I got as a gift I took apart and measured. That way I could see which seams to sew to make it in a triangle. Add comb and beak before sewing seam then add beads for the eyes before sewing the last seam It is a lot easier than trying to get your fingers and a needle to get them one I hope this helps. I don't have a picture that I can send on the computer but could send one by snail mail

I have also made these chickens, got the pattern from a friend. I filled my with synthetic pellets, added some crushed cinnamon stick and cloves. Put them in my pantry cupboard as a scent sachet, would work for other closets as well.

I avoid using rice or grains in things, just so they can't be eaten by anything!!!

I put plastic rounds that are used for filling dolls and other crafty things. It comes in a 2 lb. bag and I got mine at Joann's I like it better than the rice.
