What is everyone doing for Christmas? What you making? I'm hoping to start something soon (kids and I always make something). I want something easy that I can give to everyone (including couples), like placemats or coasters, or something like that. Any ideas?

I'm making:

a quilt for each twin great granddaughters, one is a sparkly pink and one is a purple Dora. the pattern is the same. Each block has an 8 pt. star along with 8 Y seams. Almost done.

a Rainbow Road quilt for grandson--top pieced, not quilted

a Bear In the Cabin couch throw for youngest brother--top pieced, not sandwiched or quilted--might tie it.

a couch throw for DD's teacher--not even in concept yet but will be tied.

I'm going to the OPEN RETREAT at Threads of TIme in Danville Il in November to work on all of these. Anyone interested in coming too?

I'm doing pillowcases for all the GKs, with a giftcard tucked inside. For friends, it will be those little organizers-in-a-mug. (I plan to make a boatload of those!)

I'm going to take a large tin can... paint it red. wrap a black belt around it and put evergreen and some holly in it for a Christmas decoration gift. I can give you the link if you want..

Check out Simplicity pattern #2450. I missed JoAnne's sale of $.99/patterns, so I did find a simple drawing online and think I can figure it out from there. Should be very simple, she says (winky, winky). It doesn't have a bottom, just pockets inside and outside, velcro fastners and binding.
