I might be interested in starting a group.
We meet twice a month and we are a group of about 7 or 8. Many of the quilt tops are made at home and brought to church to be tied. Some never sew, but help with the tying. We have much donated fabric and we also have a budget to buy batting and fabric. Sewing machines belong to the church. I know other churches have quilt groups and meet weekly, its whatever is set up.

When I was a young single mother with 3 kids we lived in cheap apartment with bad heating and we got one of the church quilts for Christmas one year and I bless those ladies as much as whoever gets your quilts will bless you!! I ask Gods blessing on all of you for doing this or others!

Typically, how large are the quilts you make?

I also make charity quilts for both Thank You Quilters(wounded warriors) and The Linus Connection. I wanted to stop making quilts and had a dream where there were a great many cold children and warriors without their comfort quilts. I took that to mean that the Lord doesn't want me to stop making charity quilts. I've been making charity quilts since 1992.

p.s. the quilt in my avatar photo is a charity quilt.

Congratulations! How many in your sewing group?
I was present at a church dedication of quilts before they were shipped this last fall -- draped over all the pews to show them off. It was fun to look around and see the ones I had helped tie.
