Clipping into seam allowance
#11
I think I'm hearing a difference here in "clipping" and "trimming."
I "trim" my seam allowances often after sewing the seams, especially with minis, to reduce bulk. What I do is to trim one of the sides. That is to say, if I have sewn a red and a white fabric together with 1/4" allowance, I might trim the red one back to 1/8" so that the 2 allowances are layered.
I "clip" into a "V" shaped seam or around a curved seam to allow the fabric to ease into the shapes, not necessarily "trimming" the seam allowances at all.
Or does this just add confusion?
Ok, back to my pistachio nuts.
