Cluck Cluck Sew Patterns

I just think they are a nice change of pace from a lot of the usual suspects that beginners normally quilt and are a bit more modern, and that seems to be what beginners are looking to make more of these days. Not only that, but beginners seem to really like pre cuts even though I will still make them learn to use their rotary cutters and rulers! Hehee

I just looked at the site, the patterns are quite nice. Being a new quilter myself, I would probably try quite a few of those. Most look quite easy (if time consuming). If the directions are difficult to follow, tell you students what my mentor told me. "One sentence at a time." Just read one sentence, not the whole step. Understand it, then move on. It really works.
I guess I'm blessed by not needing written instructions for simple patterns. Just do them. I can copy a lot of knitting patterns by just looking too. Now crochet? I have to have pics and very good written instructions.

I, myself, don't always need directions, but I want beginners to have them so they get used to reading patterns and have something to use as a reference point....if they learn something new, they are more apt to remember which project they were working on when they learned it and can go back to the directions.

I found their site when wandering through blog land. As a beginner, I thought their instructions were well laid out and easy to understand.
Jen - My mom has taught me to use my rotary cutter and rulers. When in JoAnn's recently I noticed a bunch of pre-cuts and asked her if those were for people too lazy to cut their own.

I still consider myself a beginner quilter and I'd try any one of these. They're very pretty and don't look to be too complicated with the exception of patterns that require applique. Just can't get the hang of doing that.
