i'd stick with the cottons and flannels so for ease of care. i second the idea of adding another piece that has some mixture of yellow and a reddish/orangish note

I also, would add another lighter shade of yellow, or a yellow/grey mix. I think I would take out the satin. I'm sure it feels heavenly, but I'd be worried about the long term life of it,and it being mixed with cottons and flannel.

This will be for a girl 8 1/2yrs old? The prints seem a bit too adult and subdued. Also, look at a color wheel and get some contrast colored fabric to add a little pizzazz. I would not be mixing cotton, flannel and satin either.JMHO

Keep the yellow - I think it will make the quilt pop! I see hints of yellow in at least two other fabrics.

I like the color palette, but your grays, and two of the pinks are too similar. Either take one out or REALLY change the value. When they are all pieced together, the pieces will blend together too much, and you won't get as much definition in the shapes as you might like. I also like the idea of adding a black.

I wouldn't want the prints or the greys. Everyone has a different preference toward color schemes. Personally, i'm surprised you have a little girl who doesn't demand lilac or lavender. It's refreshing to see a modern quilt for a girl of that age that doesn't have a few shades of purple.

COLORS OF THE SUNSET could be the name of this collection. Beautiful!

I love the yellow, I would add another print or two with some yellow in it. love the corals and oranges, my DH said it needs some cobalt blue? (he is odd at times.) They are adult colors and patterns that a very special girl likes. I made the worst looking quilt when my 6 year old grandson picked out his fabric - at 10 years old, he still loves it and remembers where the fabric came from. I still cringe when I see it (camo, fish, wizard and patriotic) these were his interests at that time.

I too, would add a yellow/gray print to the mix. Otherwise, I love them. I think your grays may be more different in tone than the photo shows as I see a light, medium and dark there. I do see a hint of yellow in a couple other off the fabrics too, but would want something a little more specific to compliment the yellow tone on tone.
