Actually it started almost 3 yrs ago now - the pinks & browns & the lt blue/turquoise & browns. I was told by a fabric rep that right now brown is the new black, meaning good basic-go with most everything color.

Hey, I might have to pick those up since I'm presently looking for a project for my brown/pink collection.
Anyway, that's sounds like a pretty good excuse to buy another quilt magazine.

I love it! Especially the aqua/teal and and brown. The shade of blue I'm referring to reminds me of the blue that was popular during the 50's.
I love the pink and browns, too.

Brown has been the "it" neutral color for awhile.
I agree it really goes well with the 1950's brights (pink, aqua, etc.).
But I how I really like it is with the Arts & Craft movement pallet (William Morris, Stickley, etc).

The industry is forever trying to replace black as the go-to colour. A few years back they were pushing gray.
Black is and probably always will be the new black.
