That is my thought also. I think the gold would be a good pop of color and bring out the color of the flowers.

I just don't you can go wrong with a 9-patch. It seems to me that they all look good when they are quilted.

I also like the gold idea. 9 Patch would work great and so would the Rail Fence. I am just finishing a quilt with alternating 9P and Rail Fence blocks and I really like that look. It is just a little more complex looking than either one on it's own.

I like the idea of a goldish tone on tone print and a dark green - perfect if it had a tiny bit of pink in it. I think I might do something like a split rail and use the green and gold colors for borders. I would probably bind with a pink and maybe lighten it up with a pink backing. Interesting fabric - really gets the brain working with ideas!

Just a wild idea. Had you thought of reconstructing the dresden plates with strips between reassemble the exploded dresden plate? Don't know how it would look. Just an idea. I can see a cream color for contrast as it looks like that is the background in the one print.
