Few and far between , but there are still spinning mills right here in NC. My son is trained as one of their technicians. They operate 24/7. He was impressed with their output.

They do have nice fabric and thread. It doesn't take long to have a $50 order for the free shipping.

If you would like to order from them, I would love to help. You could place your order, pay for it and have it shipped to me. I would then just post it to you in the UK. Let me know if you are interested. I have done it a lot of times for friends with cross stitching stuff.

I called to Connecting Threads to order thread. I kept on until I had $65.00. She was adding shipping, I said I thought I got shipping free with this order, she said it was just for ordering off the internet. She said she would go ahead and give me free shipping. I didn't go back and look on the internet. So for free shipping, you all are saying with a certain amount of order, shipping is free. So I'm wondering what's the deal.
Do you have to order more with a phone call?

This is just my opinion but I think they offer free shipping on orders over $50 only when you place them over the internet. I suspect that this saves them from having an operator standing by to take down your order and you can add and enter what you wish that way. By doing it yourself, I think they offer the free shipping. I may be wrong but suspect this is the reasoning. I have always been very pleased with anything I received from them.

I am another one that wishes they would ship internationally :(

I understand that they wouldn't be able to offer the same return policy on cut fabric, but having the option to purchase would be nice.

I have never ordered fabric online because I want to feel the quality of the fabric. Ordering online means you can get cheap, thin fabric. Its hard to believe you can purchase the same quality fabric for half the price of LQS fabrics.
Can anyone state that Connecting Thread
s fabric is the same quality as LQS fabrics?
It's definitely NOT the same quality as Moda, Hoffman etc. But, it's worth the price they charge.
