I have never ordered fabric online because I want to feel the quality of the fabric. Ordering online means you can get cheap, thin fabric. Its hard to believe you can purchase the same quality fabric for half the price of LQS fabrics.
Can anyone state that Connecting Threads fabric is the same quality as LQS fabrics?
The fabric they sent me was not cheap or thin. I have recently been disappointed in the quality of Kaffe Fassett fabric that I paid a high price for at my LQS. Now, that is thin and only 42" wide fabric. In contrast the fabric from CT is thicker. I was glad I took a chance on them.

They have always received such high praise, I thought the fabric would be top notch. I'll use the fabric, but not in a quilt. I did like the free shipping with my order.
Which ones did you order that were thin. This wasn't my experience but I'd like to know as to be able to avoid ordering those lines... when I spoke with customer service the woman there told me that they used mills in several countries as there are none in the US now. But my understanding was that all of their fabric had to meet a certain standard.

I just got my order today and I am THRILLED with the quality of the fabric. I ordered mostly the clearance fabric--$2.48 or less, and it is so pretty and nice in person.

I have to agree, they just keep getting better! I haven't ordered any fabrics yet, but their variety has really improved! I've been very happy with what little thread I purchased through them, and got some great deals on notions when they had a sale one time. Even though I use old fashioned mail order, they still had enough in stock to fill my lowly order. This is unlike clothing catalogs, where they backorder more often than fulfilling an order!
