    Default Cotton Bobbin thread

Does anyone have a source for plastic Class 15 pre-wound cotton bobbins? I suppose I'm just lazy, but I really like the free-wound bobbins. I have lots for my embroidery machine, but I prefer to use cotton instead of polyester for piecing.

Thanks for info. Do you not have problems with the cardboard bobbin?

No. I've used them both in my traditional side-loaded bobbin machine and my drop-in bobbin machine without issue.

My friend has the Janome 500E and gets the pre-wound bobbins. Found they fit my Babylock and Brother machines so she gives me the empties when she's done. Sure beats buying more bobbins for the machines. Might check to see if Janome sells cotton pre-wound.

I use Superior Threads pre-would bobbins and really like them. I have been using them for a couple years and have had no problems at all.

I have stayed away from pre-wound bobbins because I bought a package at a quilt show once and it was worthless. There were 6 bobbins and the thread broke in my hands in all 6. Since it was a vendor at a show I was not able to return it and I couldn't even use the thread to baste a quilt because it broke so easy when pulling it thru the fabric. My sister bought some too and had the same problem.
So know where you buy it so if the thread is bad you can return it.
