Default Let me cut that up!!!

Since I've been recycling and cutting up men's shirts ( thank you Bonnie Hunter) I find myself at work looking at all the colorful scrubs that we nurses wear and thinking "wish I could cut that up for quilts"!!! Lol I even said that to a friend the other day! Especially the fabrics I could use for I Spy quilts. It's driving me crazy lol ! Anybody else have this problem??

You don't wont to go any place with me. we would have our hands over our mouth all the time talk about what we would do that shirt, skirt, handbag. and people [at chucrh, work, shopping] would look at us as if we have lost of minds. oh but what away to go.

I find myself sitting in church looking at all the different fabrics! I can do that while still paying attention. http://www.quiltingboard.com/images/icons/icon12.png

I know what you mean! Yesterday I shipped out my Snoopy quilt for the Bible camp auction. Here is my original post about it:

Do you see my daughter's skirt? I bought it at a thrift store (brand new), in order to cut up the fabric. However, my daughter saw it and TOOK IT from me. She got several compliments on it the first day she wore it when I was around. I have no idea how many compliments she has gotten over that skirt. Oh well. In that case I am glad she wore it. Maybe eventually I'll get it back and THEN I can cut it up.

LOL! You gals are making me get the itch to get out and about and make the thrift and consignment circuit! I use a walker now and it's harder to run around but all this talk about shirts and scrubs may be too hard to resist. I love that Snoopy/scrubs quilt! Will keep an eye out for scrubs as they do come out in great fabrics. Will have to be careful not to try to talk the nurses out of theirs on my next Dr. visit this week!

There is always something neat to buy at a Thrift Store - can hardly wait for yard sales to start - like to collect vintage linens and am always looking for clothes to cut up for American Doll clothes.

Lol justflyingin!! The fabric in that skirt is gorgeous and your daughter looks so cute in it!!
That may be an important lesson though-- don't show our finds to family members before we take the scissors to it!!

Recently I was at a farmer's meeting with my husband. I couldn't help but notice all the nice shirts the guys were wearing and was envisioning several quilts out of them. I did notice a few 3X sized men, and thought about all the fabric I could get out of their shirts. Then, instead of taking notes and listening to the speaker, I was sketching designs and doodling quilt patterns.

I recently came home from a thrift store with two HUGE shirts that were 80% off - they staple different colored tags on them and every two weeks they change their pricing - 50% off and then 80% off. Don't know why these two fabulous shirts were left but I got them for less than $1 apiece - probably 2X - my DH is big, but not that big, but he has claimed these shirts for himself and said that I cannot cut them up - YET.
