This is what she said:

I started a double wedding ring quilt about 6 or 7 years ago for a cousin who was getting married. The wedding was called off before I finished it so I put it away.

I was using a pattern and instructions I saw on HGTV. It called for sewing a complete circle, putting that on a square that will be the backing sewing it, turning it, trimming it...then the circle is laid flat and right side up and a square of batting is put in the center and a square of fabric the same size over that and then the circle folded in on the square and tacked into place and the squares sewn together across the flaps.

My problem is I can remember how to sew the ring to the backing. I can't remember if I sew the inner ring and trim and turn or the outer ring and trim and turn. After turning, how do I sew the other ring. I've got 2 made and can't for the life of me figure out how I did it.

Can anybody help? It is a really easy way to make it but I can't remember how to do it.

Can someone help me where to go for to find what she needs?

Hi,
I did a little looking around; I didn't have much luck viewing a video on HGTV site... but I did find a couple references to the quilt, ( maybe) Does the name Cheryl Phillips sound familliar?
I found a few sites for her and the pattern ' rings that bind' they did mention Simply quilts, and quilt as you go; sorry I didn't include the links, but if you search 'Cheryl Phillips/ rings that bind'. You'll at least be able to take a look at it.
Hope that helps. Good luck.

That is how I did the pattern in Rings that Bind book. A ruler comes with the book so be sure that's included if you find a used one. It takes a lot of fabric to use this method but it sure is a lot faster and it's quilted as you go.

I believe this is the site your friend needs to go to:

www.phillipsfiberart.com

I was just there and they have the Rings that Bind book and templates, even a FAQ section..
I hope this helps..

I was hoping someone might have the instructions so she wouldn't have to buy the book...

You really need the book, there is a lot of info not shown in the video.

Dakotamaid, thanks for this site. It gave me (idea) of how to do wedding rings without dealing with little pieces. That sure takes the hard part out.
