Default A couple more quilts that need the blocks id'd

Hi, I think this will be easy - I have a couple more vintage quilts for which I'm hoping someone will be able to tell me the names of the blocks. Actually I have 3 more . The third one is just squares, nothing else (it's a dolly blanket). Is there a name for this one other than "squares put together in rows" block?

Off the top of my head:
1. Album block
2. Anvil
Just an overall patchwork.

All beautiful!

Maybe I should go on Quilt Jeopardy? hee hee

I thought the second one is chinese lanterns. Someone will be along that knows more than I do.
They are beautiful.

Jingle, the second one is definitely Anvil.

The first one looks like Steps to the Alter and the second one looks like Delectable Mountains. The last one is hard to say...

The second block looks like the double x pattern to me with the 4 center squares being all white instead of 2 white and 2 red/white HST.

Absolutely Album Block (which is sometimes called Friendship Block) and Anvil block for the second, scrappy patchwork block for the third. You can google these names and find the block or go to Quilter Cache' and look at the patterns there. You will find the ones you are looking for.

I have a book calling the first one Chimney Sweep, the second one Anvil and the last one a single patch. I realize there are many names for one block, so it's hard to come up with one single name.

That's true- some blocks go by different names. Can be confusing!
