    Default Crayons on fabric

I have seen some folks using crayons on fabric to embellish or completely create their fabric to use in quilts.

Does anyone have a good tutorial on how to do that?

I ask because our quilt guild had a silent auction. I bid (and won) a box full of all kinds of treasures. One bag had six panels of outlined ducks. No color. Just the brown outline. They look older than the hills themselves. But I thought if I could “color” them up a little, maybe they wouldn’t be quite so….hm….homely 😊

They are “woodland” ducks, which are really quite colorful. I thought maybe to use these for a masculine charity quilt.
    Providing they turn out!

So….any help in the coloring aspect?
    Thanks!

I took a class from Terrie Krygar, author of this book - https://www.amazon.com/Creative-Quil...our+crayon+box. She demonstrates her method here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJN41E2Akto

My sister has done this--before any piecing or quilting she colors with a white crayon onto the design, then with her color crayons (just regular school crayons) and then uses a pressing cloth and pressed so that excess wax is pulled out.
    Works great!

Try the Crabapple Hill website. A good way to start.
