I have all kinds of quilt patterns but never the right size to make a bed quilt. What is the best way to adjust a pattern for the right size? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Build an extra row of blocks and do a wide border.

Add enough blocks so it covers the top of the bed, then add borders to make the drop. You can also add sashing between the blocks if the pattern will still look ok.

I add extra blocks. Go ahead and cut out extra fabric so that you just automatically make them.

Use this as an excuse to buy Electric Quilt, even if an older version? Then you will also have the fabric requirements available.
