Stitchnripper, I feel the same way. I hate to read "cut 150 2 inch squares". It just overwhelms me. I prefer learning the technique, then perhaps making a quilt. Most of mine are scrappy, so it works for me. Also, I have started quilts with one plan and changed that plan mid way, so I try to be flexible.
