Cricut
My DH got me a Cricut Explorer One for Christmas. I am not into scrapbooking or any kinds of paper crafts. He thought it would be helpful in my quilting, especially with applique.
I was just wondering if anyone here had one that they use for quilting and if so had any tips to a new owner.
Thank you.

I have a Cricut but an older one had for a few years. i use to do paper crafting but not to much any more. i did recently use it to cut out nice even letters to applique on a quilt so it was very nice to have for that it would be handy for other shapes if you had the cartridges .

If it's the newer Cricut without the separate dies, use it for applique. I wouldn't cut a lot of blocks with them, some do.
All of the companies make an iron-on for fabric. I use the brand at first just to test the iron-on. If there is no difference, then will use a more traditional one made by Steam a Seam, etc.
You can test applique sizes before using by cutting paper and adjust size electronically in the cutter's software.
Have fun with it.
