Yes! What I love about quilting is there are no design rules. What a fun idea you have!

Bonnie Hunter is working on crumb blocks on Quilt Cam right now. She likes to throw in little triangle units to add some excitement to her blocks. Quilt cam from Google Hangouts is now archived on Youtube? Her friend Tanya likes to add sayings out of crumbs to her quilts. I think her book is available on Bonnie's www.quiltville.blogspot.com

Fun idea! I have a scrappy quilting book that uses all kinds of different blocks mixed in with the crumbs. All are made from scraps but there are some squares that are 6X6 that are stars, pinwheels etc.

Love the idea and love the way that brandeesmom added her pinwheels. Please post so we can see what you get. Sounds great!

brandessmom, I love what you've done. I never thought I'd be doing a crumb block quilt, but alas, here I am. When I have my design wall emptied I will be posting a picture of progress I make. Thanks for the encouragement. I like the fact that I'm using scraps. I had tossed all of my irregular sizes and types in an overloaded garbage bag and then started pulling pieces out of the "garbage" to make a practice block. The rest is history and 98 blocks later! I will look for the book with the sayings in it, too. Thanks for all your encouraging comments. Thought I was out in left field again with this idea.

I like the scrappy look. Yours looks great with the white as sashing It makes each block stand out and give you thoughts to what's in it. Keep going. Hugs
