I was interested reading this thread. I have been in love with crumb blocks for some time now. I think that true crumb blocks are made with smaller scraps (not that it really matters) and that larger blocks made in this random fashion are more along the lines of the old crazy patch blocks??? I make my blocks 3 1/2" square and if I'm making larger blocks, I put smaller squares together. My favorites are the random scrappy ones, where I just pick colors at will.

I like the way you've included orphan blocks. It will be fun for kids to 'find' the frogs, trees, boats, pinwheels, checkerboards etc.

I just started working on crumb quilts.. They are awesome, and yes, green.. I could not throw my scraps out, and didn't know what to do with them.. Then I started reading the board, and that was it.. I'm hooked...

the website you listed was wonderful. I know i do not have enough of the colors for this. i use to get rid of the little scraps. Now i will save everyone i get just to make a bottled rainbow. My daughter will be proud of such a colorful quilt. She is in Art school and always telling me to branch out on colors mom! now i will. Thanks
