thanks for posting the weight on the CT Poly--I couldn't find it on the email from them and like a poly (less lint) and a thinner thread than their cotton.

I buy their threads in cotton and try to get the largest spools that I can on sale. It's good thread and usually at a very affordable price.

Where do I find Red Rock Threads? I've not heard of them before. Thanks for responding.

    Default Best Lint-Free Thread

For piecing, I'd suggest cotton thread, but not just any cotton thread. Go to the Superior Thread site (located in St. George, Utah) and experience THE best thread ever. Take your time at the site, and sign up for the newsletter.

I like a thinner weight cotton thread for piecing, but I LOVE CT cotton for quilting! I've never found a knot or a slub, my machine loves it, and the price is unbeatable.

It's lintier than a "premium" thread would be, but it's not excessively linty.

I pretty much use their cotton exclusively for all my quilting, topstitching, and decorative stitching. It's so inexpensive (especially on sale) that I have at least 1 spool in pretty much every single color they offer, which is marvelous to have on hand! I never have to rush out to find matching thread, it's already right there in my drawer.

Thanks again for the input and advice. I appreciate it very much. I'll have to stock up when they have their next sale, although their prices seem very reasonable now!

I also use and like Superior Threads. I love the Sew Sassy for decorative stitches.
