Does anyone use a Silhouette Cameo for cutting die shapes? I'm wondering if it can cut fabric? I have been reading that it can cut fabric without the interfacing. Any thoughts or suggestions?

It can, but the brother scanncut is better for fabric, and has quilt blocks built in as well lots of feature geared towards quilters

It is definitely a more affordable price point than brother scan n cut; I believe there is a blade for fabric. Check reviews on amazon. Some day I want to buy a machine like these.

Yes, it can cut fabric. Depending on what you are cutting, you adjust the number you use for the blade cutting. I've cut fabric with mine no problem.

Lori B. do you use fusible on it when you cut? I have a Silhouette SD but it's about the same as the cameo (smaller). I tried, and didn't like, the brother scan n cut. I am thinking about getting a klick and kut zing but that's a few years down the road.

It cuts fabric. I stabilized cotton with steam a seam, got the item sized right, and cut.

Since I draw a lot of my own, it's enough. I've got the Sizzix for the other stuff.

I did put my fusible on the fabric first, and so far have had no problems with it cutting fabric.

I'm trying to find an electronic cutter (other than the scan n cut) where I don't have to put fusible on. I don't want all of my shapes to be stiff.

Steam a seam isn't that stiff. I cut out 2 objects and they flopped over almost like there was no stabilizing. Just the iron on residue for bonding.

You could probably use embroidery stabilizer. There is a very soft one for knits which isn't stiff at all.
